...another day!
"Momma you are so cool!" To start...that is the first time I heard cool out of my little girls mouth and it was super cute. But add to the fact that she was calling me cool...well, it is totally worth me sharing the embarassing story!
Lets start from the beginning...
I have made several trips from/to Atlanta and Charleston with both kids by myself. Really, it is not that bad. God has either given me good travelers or they have both learned they do not have a choice...I prefer the first scenerio. The part that is somewhat worrisome...I am alone, on the road, with two precious babies. So, being we have traveled this route many of times...I make 2 stops. I feel safe in these locations getting the kids out and letting their little bodies rest for a while and luckily they are spaced about 3 hours apart. Our drive is 9 hours, which means every three hours they get a break and I get a break. It works perfect. This last time coming home...the kids were asleep for our second stop...so momma kept driving!
The problem:
Momma had to tinkle soon there after. I am not sure if you guys are familiar with the WV Turnpike...lets just say it's a bumpy ride! I'm litterally almost home so I tried my best to stretch my bladder as long as I could. I am adament about not breaking my rule on where I stop unless there is an emergency. I contemplated over and over if this was a true emergency. Now, when you become a mom really nothing that pertains to you is an emergency. I am of the mind...suck it up for the team! I get off of our exit with 20 minutes to go in our drive and realize I'm not making it. So, I compromised. I would stop, but not technically stop!
The solution:
I grabbed my Starbucks cup...took off my seatbelt...pulled all the shades up in the mini-van (another plus to driving my momma's mini-van) made my way to the back and...
...yes, I PEED IN THE CUP!
Well, that's when she said it. "Momma you are so cool!" I start laughing and of course you know what comes next..."momma I gotta go pee pee too!" As she smiles from ear to ear...I let her pee in the cup!
What I learned:
When you drive through Starbucks and you find yourself debating whether to buy a grande or a venti...
ALWAYS choose the venti!
Those cups fill up fast!
