Projects.

Another project to cross of my excel spreadsheet to do list!  If you guys know my husband...I mean really know him...he creates spreadsheets for any project.  He suggested I create a list of everything I wanted to do to the house...so I made him real happy and instead of a simple old list, he got himself an excel file sent straight to his inbox!

So...when your mind won't let you rest what should you do?  Get busy!  I've been home a week and managed to cross an entire room of my list.  This is our guest bedroom on our main floor.  Yes...your eyes are not playing tricks on you...I wanted me some stripes!

If you know me...there is nothing about me that is theme"y".  I wanted a room that felt calm and a room I could put up a lot of family pics.  Especially...beach pics.  I have tons that I love and have blown up (not yet hung) but needed somewhere to put them.  I don't think R's cute beach toosh needs to be hanging in our living room, so I decided this bedroom would be perfect.  Considering only family stays in here and we have tons of pics of all our family enjoying each other on the beach this would work perfect.  So...later I will show you pics of how I will display all the pics and keep rotating them yearly.
Let me give you the 411 on painting stripes...not as easy as I had convinced Chris it would be.  We measured, snapped chalk lines, taped using only the best painters tape (Frog Tape), and got to work.  Taping took a LONG time, but we both love it!
The one thing I am determined to do in almost every room is change our lighting.  When you buy a builder house in a BIG neighborhood you notice real quick we all have the same lighting fixtures.  So...my goal is to separate our houses from the rest and the first and cheapest way to do this is to change the lighting throughout the house!!!!  This is an IKEA purchase that I thought fit perfectly in the room and was only $30!
Ok...so while I hope everyone is enjoying the house pics, the reason for this particular post is to get mom and Missy's opinion on this rug.  I am also not a matchy, matchy person AT ALL.  So, while some parts of me like this rug, I am debating if it works with the curtains and rug in my dining room??
Not a great pic of all of it I know, but it's the best I could do to get you a peek at all three things working together.  So...Miss call me and tell me what you guys think.  Is it too matchy, matchy???
Of course, if anyone else wants to give me their opinions it would be much appreciated!
And no...I have not mopped our floors since K's b-day party.  Another tip...if you put down dark hardwoods you will LOVE them...but, you better like to clean!

Truthfully. . .I think the rug should be wider. Just me putting my stupid 2 cents in. Sorry! I know, don't say anything if you can't say something nice. .but you asked!
