Just a quick update on mom...she got the call Thursday that her name was randomly selected for the PARP trial at WVU! Just so you understand...the odds of her name being drawn was like your odds of winning the lottery. On Monday, I called the Organization of Rare Diseases who is in charge of randomly selecting participants to see if I could get any information. All she could tell me was that thousands of names were in their database and the week before they only drew 14 participants (ok, so maybe the odds are a little better than winning the lottery but when you buy a lottery ticket you are not talking about a life or death scenario).
So, we prayed! We did our best to stay positive...and assured mom that her name would be called the next week. Not only would her name be called, but that her name would be drawn FIRST! This became my prayer...our prayers! That not only would her name be drawn, but her name would come out of the computer first. On Wednesday night, I went in her room and kissed her on her forehead and said..."mom, I am going to pray tonight that your name will be selected first tomorrow."
So, I am making the bed upstairs and getting things around for me and the kids to begin our journey home. I hear daddy coming up the stairs and he says "I want you to tell her!" I grab my face, tears already welling and see the tears in his eyes! Her name was picked...but that isn't really what is amazing.
The nurse tells mom that her name was the first name to be selected!
So, here is what I know...it wasn't random luck that she will be starting treatment on Tuesday! When she is healed completely of this cancer...it will not be because of some "miracle" drug as they are calling it!
God, the only miracle performer, will be solely responsible!
So...while she has a long road before her, this was His way of giving us a little hug and telling us He is in control!

Sara, we got some people together last week to fast and pray for your mom to be chosen for the treatment. He is SO good! We are now fasting and praying that it is 100% successful! Be encouraged that people from all over are praying for your mom and your precious family! Thank you Jesus!
Tears! you move me to tears!
