Dear R,

Well...today is it. The day you turn 3 years old.

Right now, you are napping. I laid down with you for a little bit...and as your back was turned toward me, I stared at your shoulder blades and the black hair that has been on your back since you were born. Then you turned toward me and opened your eyes just a little, snuggled in and I stared at your eye lashes. You are BEAUTIFUL...so natural. You are growing into this amazing little girl...I still with everything in me want you to be my baby, but it is happening and very little me and your daddy can do about it. You are beyond special and I am amazed at how smart you are. No...you still skip 3 and 4 when you count and I am not sure yet as to how well you will do in school. But, you have your daddy's mind. You are a thinker and a doer. I can look in your eyes and see your mind churning. You are adventurous and playful, yet quiet and serious. As I am typing...I am realizing just how much you really are like your daddy.

It is a little scary being a mommy sometimes! How in the world will I protect you from the world...yet let you enjoy everything that is so good about it. Know this, I will be praying that God keeps you in His arms and you in turn will hold on to Him. I tell you everynight..."Jesus gave you to momma" and I know that to be true. Me and your daddy could never have made anything as perfect as you! Love, Momma
