How it went down...
It was pretty simple...my water broke. I was 36 weeks...and while I was excited for the pregnancy to be over and be holding my sweet boy instead...I was not quite prepared for that surprise! To be honest...me and Chris were in a little bit of denial. After calling my sweet friend Liz to come get R, we headed to the hospital. She reminded me today that I told her it was probably going to be a false alarm and we would be home as soon as we could. She laughed and said "no sweet heart, you are having a baby boy today!" She was right! My water broke about 3am and we got to the hospital around 9:30am. I had had zero contractions and me and Chris waited in the triage room until about 3:45 due to several emergencies! We both had decided that we wanted to deliver at Northside Cherokee...primarily because we both hate downtown and for a smaller atmosphere...this was the one day that of course it would be a mad house. The nurses were thin and there were 3 emeregency c-sections (all 3 twins) that were of much greater need than my own. Once we got into the room they induced and he arrived at 9:13pm. We had such a different experience than last time and I am so thankful...the nurses and doctors were great...and I am doing 100 times better post delivery than when I had R.
Here is the best part...unbeknownst to me...there was a baby party being planned on Saturday in which not only our friends would be in attendance...but also my Mom and Dad! They had already planned on driving down on Friday after mom's treatment...and they missed the birth by only 2 minutes! It didn't matter...the only thing that mattered to me was that they were there! I had been mentally preparing myself for months that this time would be different...they would come down after her chemo was over and it would be alright. But, my heart was silently aching over it! God always has amazing timing and continues to give me more grace than I deserve!
K is doing good...considering he is a peanut. We took him to the doctor and were a little scared as he had lost weight and is now down to 5lbs. We had to start giving him formula and he is not taking it well either. Today, we have managed and tried so hard to at least get 1 ounce in him every 2 hours. The doctor basically explained he was in a deficit and would be lethargic until he got some nutrition in him. I did see his sweet eyes again today...which made mommy very happy! We go back to the doctor tomorrow for another weight check.
Finally, most have been asking about R and how she is handling it all. She is doing great and is warming up gently (which is hard for her...there is no gentle movement in that girls body)! I am so proud of her!
This family of FOUR is very happy!

What a great story you'll have to tell K when he's bigger! And, you're right...that is amazing timing; you were definitely being watched over. Congrats, again!
